Emergency Certificate

 

Type of Document

An Emergency Certificate (EC) is a one way travel document which authorises an Indian national to enter India and to whom a new passport cannot be issued immediately. This may be the case of lost/stolen/damaged/expired Indian passport.

How to Apply

The application for online application form for the EC may be submitted directly at the Embassy (Oranjestraat 12, 2514 JB The Hague The Netherlands) on any working day between 9:30-12:30. Following necessary documents, Photograph and Signature is mandatory to upload online in application form.

Documents Required

1.    Print-out of the online filled in application form. The form should be duly signed   with photograph  (35 mm  x 45 mm ) with light background affixed.

2.    Original expired/ damaged passport and a copy of the same.

3.    Copy of the Passport in case of lost/ stolen passport.

4.    Copy of Police report if the passport is lost/ stolen.

5.    Copy of the confirmed Air to India tickets from Netherlands only. (Before booking Air ticket, applicant may check with the airlines if handwritten EC’s are accepted for travelling.)

6.    A letter requesting for EC.

7.    3 Photographs of the Applicant. (35 mm  x 45 mm ) with light background affixed

8.    Proof of legal stay permission in the Netherlands. It is necessary to furnish proof of a valid Visa or Residence Permit.

Processing Time

No definite time-frame since such applications are processed on case to case basis.
